Vengeance
In the heat of the fray, our heroes stood.
Now their advance was stuck,
When by the sword of a knight in enemy ranks
Helveti was struck.
As he fell to the ground, his assaulter fled,
Leaving the men in grief.
And his brothers of the Elitron band
Watched in disbelief.
As if he himself had felt the blow
Daron cried out in pain,
And he knelt by his side in those final moments
‘Till no breath did remain.
“No debt goes unpaid.
Thus was the promise by justice laid.”
Across the field, the knight that killed
Young Daron’s friend now battled on
In a suit of silver, on a steed of white,
An ideal fighter, The Republic’s pawn.
Rising thus from his comrade slain,
Daron now did go
To hack through the forest of blades and shields,
To face his newfound foe.
Vengeance consumes him,
The fierce burn of loss now exhumes him.
All thoughts escape him
Except those of revenge which now take him.
No man, friend or foe, blocked his path
As he strode toward the knight with unbound wrath.
For before the bloodshed ends this day,
The fallen’s debt he must repay.
Emerging now from the thick of men,
Daron found himself in a clearing wide
With his adversary facing him,
Awaiting his arrival with blade by side.
Upon this fiend, he would exact
Vengeance for his brother.
And both men charged now with intent
To destroy the other.
Sparks fly as blades clash,
And steel ruptures time’s path.
Transcending the light’s flash,
The fierce foes unleash their wrath.
On as the hurricane and the glorified reaping
Of victory is carved in fate.
Instinct is history’s victor, torrent of reaving
As Daron’s blade now did sedate.
And now his mind absolves of pain,
There lie his breatheren’s killer slain.
“No debt goes unpaid.
Thus was the promise by justice laid.”
