The Bigger Picture

Sometimes blue skies
Seem like white lies
Tellin’ me everything will be alright
When there’s no end in sight
Sometimes life seems
Like a bad dream
That keeps echoing
Through my mind

Oh, it takes time to realize
You’re pickin’ up the pieces
Of my heart
You’re pickin’ up the pieces
Of my life

Though I may kick, scream and cry
You’re puttin’ them in place
For my good
Though often You are misunderstood
I know You want what’s best
For me to see
The bigger picture

Though I prayed for
An open door
I saw a window of opportunity
Fit my schedule nicely
Another dead-end waste of time
Another rhythm with no rhyme
Oh, patience simply
Could not hurt me, no

You’re pickin’ up the pieces
Of my heart
You’re pickin’ up the pieces
Of my life
Though I may kick, scream and cry
You’re puttin’ them in place
For my good
Though often You are misunderstood
I know You want what’s best
For me to see
The bigger picture

And it’s puzzling
Puzzling to me
Why can’t I see
What it is You’re doing
Before I make another mistake

You’re pickin’ up the pieces
Of my heart
You’re pickin’ up the pieces
Of my life
Though I may kick, scream and cry
You’re puttin’ them in place
For my good
Though often You are misunderstood
I know You want what’s best
For me to see
