The Bard’s Tale

“Come hither young ones and hear the tale
Of war and triumph, of blood and ale.
For this land’s sunrise will nigh behold
More an epic saga than this one told.
They’re the Heroes of Dimiscia!
Now hear the tale of Elitron Crew,
Twenty-two that fought as one.
They vanquished foes in the name of truth.
Braver men you will find none.
And now their hymns of victory
Will be sung through all the land.
So goes the tale of this noble band.
They’re the Heroes of Dimiscia!
They won the war that had plagued these lands
And brought peace to us again.
They faced their death in the face of gods
And thus proved the strength of men.
For where there once was darkness,
Their blades cast guiding light,
So goes the tale of this valiant fight.
They’re the Heroes of Dimiscia!
From romanticized beginnings
To commitment to a cause.
But then they assessed, as their path progressed
Could not adhere to these laws.
So they parted ways with The Rebellion.
From their truth they heeded call.
And we learn from them that the hero’s path
Is not the path of All.
From their views aesthete
Beckoned paths elite.
Ethics are disposed,
Paradigms transposed.
From the strength of their convictions,
Which raged as a mighty flood,
To their exploits on the battlefield
Writing poetry in blood.
And when they faced odds insurmountable
Their courage did not wane.
So goes the tale of this great campaign.
They’re the Heroes of Dimiscia!
This triumph in our history
Will ever grace their page,
Their victory and valor,
Strength to define our age.
And so we sing this hymn,
Long after they are gone
‘Lest we forget their sacrifice,
And so their tale lives on.
They’re the Heroes of Dimiscia!”
